Q. How Much Does it Cost?
A. After the shoot fee the family photo file is credited with £14.99 which can be used to purchase a 5x7” print of your choice or as a credit against any other purchase. This offer is valid for 14 days from the point your images are loaded onto the website. Postage is £4.95 on all orders (sorry it is just a cost we can not avoid).

Q. Do I need to book?

A. There is no need to book, just tell the photographer you want your family photographed, he/she will do the shoot immediately (occasionally a queue forms and the photographer will shoot families one after the other)

Q. How long does the shoot take?
A. The Shoot Takes about 10 to 20 minutes depending on how co-operative the little ones are being! Some kids just love to pose others are more shy - don’t worry the photographers are experienced and have seen it all before.

Q. How many photos do you take?
A. Again depending on how co-operative the little ones are being about 40 to 60 photographs are taken, we like to ask mums and dads to pose too, especially with shy children it really help and often they provide really stunning family groupings.

Q. When will I be able to see my photos?
A. Within 7 working days your images will be processed and loaded onto our website www.cratephotography.co.uk you will be given your own family password and you should also receive a text and email with details of when and where your images can be found. It is critical that you provide accurate email addresses and mobile numbers.

Q. Can I choose my own free print?
A. Yes, any of the images can be chosen as your free print - you must order your free print(s) as if you were going to pay for them - the price will be discounted in your checkout basket. Please do not order prints in the “Customer Comments” section as the computer will not recognise this as an order! Remember to order any free prints or order value incentives at the time of placing your order - we cannot retrospectively do it.

Q. Will I be sold to?
A. No, we don’t believe in hard sell, and frankly we don’t need too. Our prices are super value and the quality of our images sell themselves. You won’t receive any hard sell calls, you just view your images at your leisure on your PC and decide if you want to buy or not, there is no obligation - but it’s hard not to buy ;-). We will send you a couple of emails reminding you of your password, the offer deadlines and letting you know when we are going to remove the images from the site.

Q. How long do you keep the images for?
A. We keep the images “live” on the site for 4 weeks, after that we remove them and store them for a minimum of 6 months. We will email you before we finally delete your images so we will not delete them without you knowing.

Q. I worry about other people seeing my images?
A. Your images are password protected, only Crate Staff and you and the people you choose to give your password to will be able to access the images. Note: there is a thumb nail image use to find your family photo file this is the only image that is on the website display.

Q. Are your Photographers CRB Checked?
A. Yes, all our photographer have an up to date CRB check.

Q. When do I receive my password?

A. You will receive your password at the shoot, and also in a text and email when your images are ready to view.

Q. How do I contact you if I have a query?
A. Go to www.cratephotography.co.uk, click on the Contact Us tab, type in your question and we will reply during office hours or call 01225 481153 our office hours are 9.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday - we are a small family business so if we are out there will be an answer machine and we will return you calls as soon as we can.

Q. Do I have to order through the website?

A. We can take orders over the internet - this helps us keep our prices low. We take credit cards, debit cards and Paypal payments, via a secure server.

Q. Can I pay by cheque?
Please phone us so that we can set your file to 'pay by cheque'.

Q. Are there discounts available for multiple purchases?
A. Yes, print prices reduce dramatically the more you order - please see current offers on the website.

Q. Who prints the images?
A. Our professional photo lab in Coventry print and dispatch all orders directly to your door, within 7 to 14 days of order, we at head office to not produce any prints and we don’t get to see them before they go to you so if you are unhappy for any reason please call us so that we can help you.

Q. Can I order a download or DVD disc of all the images taken on the day?
A. Yes, you may order a digital download of all the photos taken on the day or we will write them to DVD for you. You will also be sent a letter of consent which gives you permission to print on your home printer or at a lab of your choice. We will email you this letter with copyright entitlement. Unfortunately, quality varies enormously from lab to lab - we cannot be held responsible for other printers’ results. We recommend using non high street professional labs.

Q. Can I order black and white prints?
A. Yes, we offer everything in colour and black and white.

Q. Why does it take 7 days to see my images on the website?
A. We have to go through a lot of processes before they are ready to view. Some of these are: brightening, sharpening, cropping, editing. One day’s shoot can also take 24hours just to upload.

Q. Can I show my friends and family the images before I purchase?
A. Yes, you can forward the email we send you with the link on it to as many of your friends and family as you wish. Or you can give them you password and our web address so they can access them that way.

Q. How do I get the best discount?
A. The more you order, the cheaper the individual prints are so if you have other family members who would also like to purchase, collating the order yourself can save you money and only one P&P charge.

Q. I can see my collection on the website but it says “Awaiting Images”?
A. This means the images are still being processed but are close to be uploaded. We will email you when they are available to view.

Q. Why are the downloaded JPEG files different sizes?
A. A JPEG compresses the image.... a simple image is compressed more than a complicated image. For example the images with more white area are less complicated (smaller file size) than images with lots of detail and not much white area (larger file size). File sizes range from 300kb to 2mb
